Co-Pastor & Youth Pastor
New Testament truly is home to Laurie, as the church was started when she was less than a year old, and it was her dad who started it. After a personal God-encounter at Camp Shiloh following her Senior year of high school, Laurie surrendered her own personal career plans and agenda, choosing instead to accept and pursue the call of God on her life. She attended Elim Bible Institute and graduated in 2001 from the Missions tract.
Laurie came on staff at New Testament in 2002 and was ordained as a pastor in 2005. She juggles a variety of tasks, serving in multiple areas that extend beyond the local church. Laurie is a director for Camp Shiloh’s summer youth camps; serves on 2 national youth ministry boards; helped start a mentoring program in a local public high school; has taught abstinence courses in several local public schools; coached 3 different sports on the high school level for 10 years; guest teaches for Elim Bible Institute’s youth ministry tract; and is called upon regularly to preach at both adult and youth gatherings. Laurie has traveled internationally since she was in high school and has also led several missions teams thru the years.
In all she does, Laurie’s life is marked by energy, passion and commitment to the cause of Christ. Her enthusiasm and love for God and others is contagious. She is highly effective in communicating the Word of God in a relevant way, connecting with people of all ages.
Laurie and her husband James live in Rochester and hold on to the hopes of the Buffalo Bills returning to the Super Bowl someday! Laurie is a big fan of coffee, Rice Krispies treats, working out and best of all, being an aunt.
Jim Gunzburg is an elder and the Discovery Groups Pastor at New Testament. Jim is in charge of training and overseeing “the amazing leaders who do a great job leading the groups each semester.” He finds great enjoyment in serving the Discovery Group leaders and assisting them with whatever they need.
Jim and his wife Joanne have been in ministry for over 10 years and love meeting new people, as well as helping people grow in their faith. They have been involved in home groups since they first met and have a passion for making a difference in the lives of others.

Miranda “Jilly” Egnor
Miranda “Jilly” Egnor recently graduated from Elim Bible Institute and College’s 3-year program. She first felt the Lord’s call for her to attend Elim her sophomore year of high school, and witnessed His faithful provision for her to continue despite unlikely financial circumstances. “Jilly” has since seen nothing but His faithfulness shine through in her life in establishing for her a job, a home, and a ministry at New Testament.
“Jilly” has a whole-hearted passion to worship God. She loves to teach worship and see the deepening of its understanding through that of relationship with God in His children. That passion flows from a love for music she’s always had, operated in, and grown in. “Jilly” has a heart to preach the Word of God, to go to the missions field and serve those in need to testify the love of God.
New Testament has recently become “Jilly’s” home church and she’s enjoyed getting to know and love the members, leadership, and new things God is doing there.
